Baked Potato 101

on Sunday, 25 February 2018. Posted in Blog & News

There are so many ways to bake a potato. Today, we are going to give readers a few inside tips for making delicious baked potatoes! Many people believe that wrapping potatoes in foil is beneficial. However, wrapping potatoes in foil before baking increases the cooking time and makes the skin and flesh of the potato soggy due to the trapped steam.

Another interesting time-saving trick is that you can make a baked potato in the microwave! When microwaving a potato, you should wash your potato then pierce holes in it with a fork. The next step is to wrap the potato in a microwave-safe paper towel and bake the potato 5-15 minutes depending on the size. From there you should let the potato stand wrapped in the paper towels for five minutes to finish cooking. Once your potato reaches an internal temperature of 210 degrees, it is ready to eat!
