POTATO WART FOUND IN CANADA

Back in February 2022 there was a detection of Potato Wart at Prince Edward Island (P.E.I), this new case is associated with the previous detection. They have tested close to 50,000 samples and the P.E.I Potato Board says only four have tested positive. The CFIA Lab have been working hard testing all the samples.  The owner of this field grows potatoes for processing locally. Each positive sample was found in fields that currently have CFIA restrictions in place also, important to note that they were all close together. Another update should be coming on October 2^nd, 2023, for the quarterly update. The investigation should be coming to an end in a few weeks.
