  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Dip:
  • 8 oz brick-style plain cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions, chopped
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper
  • Assorted crackers and crudités
