WASHINGTON STATE POTATO COMMISSION (WSPC) EDUCATES 5TH GRADERS AT BENTON-FRANKLIN COUNTY FARM FAIR
Over six hundred 5th Graders from 8 different schools showed up to the Benton Franklin County Fair grounds last Thursday and Friday to participate in the Benton Franklin County Farm Fair. The Washington State Potato Commission (WSPC) and other agriculture industry leaders teamed up with Future Farmers of America (FFA) students to educate the 5th grade students about agriculture in their state.
WSPC staff shared information on potato growing cycles, nutrition, and the importance of the potato industry in Washington State. Students were eager to learn and enjoyed hot, fresh Washington fries and hashbrown patties. The sunshine helped make this another successful event!
