USDA ARS’ new podcast “Science in Your Shopping Cart” explores how science intermingles with agricultural products consumers purchase in the grocery store. The podcast will explain how new varieties of fruits and vegetables are created and how advances in technology have led to safer, cheaper, and tastier food. New and popular varieties of potatoes, tomatoes, and spinach will be the focus of their first episode. Every Tuesday, new episodes will be available on your favorite podcast platform including iTunes, Amazon Music, Pandora, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
