Background on Bulletins Live! Two
The EPA, under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) to determine:
- If a pesticide poses unreasonable adverse effects on humans, health, or environment,
- To conduct risk assessments to determine risks presented by a pesticide to human health and the ecology, and
- To determine if changes are necessary to protect the environment.
Under the Endangered Species Act, the EPA has the responsibility to ensure registrations for pesticides don’t jeopardize the continued survival of federally listed species or modify the habitat that is designated critical to their survival. General pesticide labels will include nationwide mitigations for specific geographical areas which can be accessed through the Bulletins Live! 2 program. When instructed by the pesticide label, pesticide applicators must access the Bulletins Live! 2 program to identify and follow any mitigation measures placed within that intended application area.
