Columbia Park, Kennewick, WA

This upcoming September 8th hop in the car and head to Columbia Park in Kennewick for one last summer road trip. Take your kids to a fun and education filled event at Riverfest 2018! Riverfest 2018 helps to educate parents and kids on how navigation, irrigation and power help run the dams that are so important to our agriculture process. There will be plenty of vendors, exhibitors and entertainment for everyone to have fun while learning about the important benefits of the Federal Columbia River Power System. Most exciting of all, kids will also have the chance to learn how to create power from a potato!
Thousands of people came from all over North America to be part of the construction for the Columbia Basin Project (Grand Coulee Dam) in 1943. The creation of this dam helped to water more than 1,000,000 acres of land creating a livable and workable environment for settlers in Central Washington and throughout the United States. The WSPC sponsors this event because of the enormous role dams have in proper irrigation and power for the agriculture industry in Washington. We’re excited to be a part of an event that educates such an important part of our history and benefits our present all while having fun!
