Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania will be the setting for the Leadership, Education, and Advancement Foundation’s (Potato LEAF) new leadership program entitled Leadership in the Field: From Battlefield to Potato Field. The program will be held July 15-18, 2024 and is open to anyone within the U.S. potato industry. Applications will be accepted through March 1, 2024.

Potato LEAF is utilizing various locations within the battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to highlight how ordinary people impacted the war in leadership roles by the extraordinary things they were called upon to do. They will correlate how the important leadership lessons learned from the Battle of Gettysburg are valuable today. It will be a case study in how a wide range of perspectives of military leadership and civilians provide leadership lessons in character, communication, team building, humility, flexibility, strategy, resilience, accountability, and problem solving. It will provide a unique hands-on experience connecting lessons learned through history to current situations.

The cost for selected participants is $1,800.00 and doesn’t include travel. Lodging at the Gettysburg Hotel in downtown Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the majority of meals, and licensed Battlefield Guides are included.
