NRCS CHIEF TERRY COSBY TOURS OGWARP

State Conservationist of Washington State, Roylene Comes-At-Night and NRCS Chief Cosby toured the Odessa Groundwater Replacement Program (OGWRP). The kickoff meeting for the event was held at the Washington State Potato Commission where potato production, processing and municipality needs were discussed in this massive aquifer rescue. State elected officials, Bureau of Reclamation, Conservation Districts, Washington State Department of Agriculture and East Irrigation District expressed need for partnership with NRCS utilizing available dollars. Chief Cosby toured various facets of the ground water replacement program seeing firsthand completed work and needed work to finish this rescue for farms and communities that depend on a healthy aquifer.
