INSURANCE COVERAGE OPTIONS FOR SPECIALTY CROP AND ACTUAL PRODUCTION HISTORY (APH) CROP PROGRAMS ARE EXPANDING THROUGH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE’S (USDA) RISK MANAGEMENT AGENCY (RMA)

0.0/5 rating (0 votes)

To provide greater options for agricultural producers to manage risk, the USDA is expanding insurance coverage options for specialty crop and APH crop programs through it’s RMA. This expansion will make enterprise units available to crops that were previously excluded. Producers are allowed to insure all acres of an insured crop within a county by utilizing an enterprise unit. For more information on enterprise units, go here.

Effective June 30, 2023, this expansion addresses terms required by the 2018 Farm Bill and answers requests from producers to allow enterprise units for other APH crop insurance programs. USDA RMA plans to continue expansion of these benefits to other APH crop in upcoming months.
