EPA REGISTERS NEW PESTICIDE TECHNOLOGY FOR POTATO CROPS

Biopesticide products that contain the active ingredient Ledprona has been registered with the Environmental Protection Agency or EPA for three years. The EPA encourages less toxic chemical-based pesticides, Ledprona is a new kind of pesticide that uses RNA interference which is a more natural approach. This new pesticide was created to treat Colorado Potato Beetle.  This will be the first dsRNA to be used commercially and sprayed on plants. This provides another option outside of chemical-based pesticides for Colorado Potato Beetle.
