Washington potato growers are invited to join the Washington State University Extension Center at an upcoming virtual Coffee Hour focused on soil health and deep soil processes. The coffee hour will be an interactive discussion designed to connect research with on-farm realities.

This session will “dig deeper” into what we know about deep soil biology and function, why it matters for crop resilience and productivity, and how current research is informing practical management decisions. The conversation will bring together growers, researchers, and others invested in building healthy, productive soils across Washington agriculture.

Featured guests include Mike Strickland of University of Idaho and Tim Paulitz from the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Services (USDA-ARS). Maren Friesen from Washington State University (WSU) will host the discussion. Participants are encouraged to share questions, observations, and experiences. This is a conversation, not a lecture.
