WASHINGTON GROWERS APPOINTED TO POTATOES USA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced new appointments to the Potatoes USA Board of Directors, with several Washington growers selected to help guide the future of the U.S. potato industry.

These appointments are effective immediately, with board members serving either two- or three-year terms. The Board plays a critical role in shaping national marketing, research, and education efforts that support potato growers across the country.

Washington is well represented among this year’s newly appointed members:

• Tara Cunningham, Mount Vernon (two-year term)
• Andrew Hyer, Moses Lake
• Mia Reed, Pasco
• Mike Wollman, Warden

Washington also had 2 members reappointed, continuing their leadership and service:

• Rhonda Kleyn, Quincy
• Levi Clayton Underwood, Pasco

The Potatoes USA Board of Directors is responsible for setting strategic priorities and overseeing programs that strengthen demand for potatoes through marketing, research, and global market development.

Washington’s continued representation on the board ensures that the voice of our state’s growers remains strong at the national level—helping shape initiatives that benefit not only Washington agriculture, but the entire U.S. potato industry.
