NATIONAL POTATO COUNCIL ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF WASHINGTON’S TED TSCHIRKY AS 2025 PRESIDENT

During the National Potato Council’s (NPC) Annual Washington Summit in Washington D.C., the NPC Executive Committee leaders were appointed, and Washington state’s Ted Tschirky was named as the 2025 Council President. Prior to this appointment, Tschirky served as NPC’s First Vice President and Vice President of Trade Affairs. For more than twenty years, Tschirky has actively served in state and national potato associations. For the Washington State Potato Commission, he has actively participated on the commission board and served as the WSPC Board Chair President from 2009-2010.
In Washington’s Columbia River basin, Tschirky is a third generation farmer and works alongside his wife Merideth “Meri” and sons Tyler and Dylan. Today, their farm grows potatoes for processing and the farm includes a storage facility.
