MCDONALD’S VALUE MEALS WITH NOSTALGIC CUPS IS A MARKETING STRATEGY BRINGING CUSTOMERS BACK IN THE DOOR
McDonald’s marketing strategy to offer $5 value meals including nostalgic collector’s cups appears to be bringing customers back to the Chicago based fast food chain. According to data derived by Placer.ai, traffic increased in five of the six weeks between early June to mid-August. Data collected before that time from reflected declines. The data firm Numerator’s survey showed that 70% of McDonald’s customers chose the fast food restaurant because of the value meal. The value meal offer drove 58% of their customers to choose McDonald’s over one of their competitors. Plus, 91% said they would likely buy the value meal again. McDonald’s $5 value meal includes a McChicken or McDouble, four piece chicken nuggets, a small fry, and a small drink with the collector’s cup.
