Lamb To Permanently Close Connell French Fry Plant

Lamb Weston (Lamb) recently announced its results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025 and updated its full year earnings targets for fiscal 2025. Restaurant traffic and frozen potato demand, relative to supply, continue to be soft, and will remain soft through the remainder of fiscal 2025, as report by Lamb. Combating operational cost efficiencies, Lamb is taking actions that include the permanent closure of its french fry plant in Connell, Washington because of the imbalance of efficiency. Lamb will also temporarily curtail certain production lines and schedules in other plants. It’s estimated this plant closure will displace 375 jobs in a small rural community.
