IT’S OFFICIAL – MARCH IS WASHINGTON AGRICULTURE MONTH
March has officially been proclaimed Washington Agriculture Month by Governor Bob Ferguson — a statewide recognition of the essential role that farming plays in our economy, communities, and daily lives. View the proclamation here.
For Washington’s potato industry, this designation is especially meaningful. Our growers are part of one of the state’s most impactful agricultural sectors — contributing billions to the economy, creating jobs in rural communities, and delivering Washington-grown spuds to tables across the nation and around the world.
The proclamation highlights that agriculture touches every corner of the state, from family farms and field workers to processors and export partners, and provides an opportunity for all Washington residents to learn where their food comes from and to support the people who produce it.
As we celebrate this month, we encourage you to:
- Share your farm stories with your community, on your social media platforms and with us here at the WSPC!
- Highlight the role of potatoes in Washington’s agricultural success any chance you get.
- Connect with your customers, partners and consumers during National Agriculture Week (March 15–21) and National Agriculture Day (March 24).
