The Potato Sustainability Alliance (PSA) opened enrollment for 2025 On-Farm Assessments on October 1, 2025 and enrollment will remain open through December 19, 2025. North American potato growers will be able to assess and improve production practices utilizing the Sustainable Outcomes in Agriculture (SOA) Standard empowered by Syngenta’s Cropwise™ Sustainability app. Community benchmark reports with insights from regional potato growers will be provided to participants to provide guidance to continue improvement.

The On-Farm Assessment

  • Growers complete the SOA Standard to evaluate:
    • Optimal Production
    • Water Impact
    • Soil Health
    • Biodiversity and Habitat
    • Human and Animal Health
    • Community Leadership
  • SOA results are summarized and shared to:
    • Inform growers and partners of available actions.
    • Provide published insights nationwide on the PSA Website annual assessment report.

How to Participate:

  1. Enroll in the PSA Program.
  2. Follow the Grower Guide and Checklist.
  3. Download and login to the Cropwise™ Sustainability app.
  4. Choose PSA as your sustainability partner.
  5. Complete the assessment.
  6. Choose your preference for sharing responses with value chain partners.
  7. Review personalized insights and results derived from the assessment.

By participating, growers contribute valuable data that supports not only their own continuous improvement but also industry-wide transparency and resilience. Results are shared with both growers and value chain partners, with aggregated national-level insights published annually on the PSA website. Participation is free for all potato growers in North America, with a special invitation extended to those supplying PSA member buyers and partners.
