AG EDUCATION COMES TO LIFE AT AGRIVENTURE DAYS IN ENUMCLAW

The grounds at the Enumclaw Expo Center were transformed into a giant classroom as local students stepped into the world of agriculture during the first-ever AgriVenture Days event. Held over two exciting days, AgriVenture welcomed local fourth and fifth grade students from the Enumclaw School District for an interactive learning experience focused on the importance of agriculture in everyday life.

Led by dedicated local FFA students, the young attendees explored 13 hands-on agricultural exhibits designed to teach them about the many industries that help feed, clothe, and support communities across Washington State. From dairy and goats to hay, corn, farm equipment, and potatoes, students had the opportunity to see agriculture up close and learn directly from those involved in the industry.

Events like AgriVenture help ensure the next generation understands the value of farming and ranching while encouraging curiosity about where their food comes from.

One of the highlights of the event was the Washington potato exhibit, where 725 students learned how potatoes are grown in Washington, discovered the nutritional benefits potatoes provide, and enjoyed samples of delicious fries. The exhibit helped showcase not only the importance of potatoes to Washington agriculture, but also the role farmers play in producing safe, nutritious, and sustainable food.
