Washington potato growers planning equipment investments may want to take a close look at a new funding opportunity from the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA). Beginning September 4, 2026, WSDA will begin accepting applications for its new Climate Smart Farm Equipment Grant, a reimbursement program designed to help producers purchase equipment that improves efficiency while supporting soil health and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Potato Leadership, Education, and Advancement Foundation (Potato LEAF) is now accepting applications for its 2027 Potato Industry Leadership Institute (PILI), an intensive leadership development program designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in the U.S. potato industry. Applications open August 1, 2026, and close October 16, 2026.
