The grounds at the Enumclaw Expo Center were transformed into a giant classroom as local students stepped into the world of agriculture during the first-ever AgriVenture Days event. Held over two exciting days, AgriVenture welcomed local fourth and fifth grade students from the Enumclaw School District for an interactive learning experience focused on the importance of agriculture in everyday life.

The nomination process is now open for Washington potato growers interested in serving on the national board of Potatoes USA.

Potatoes that fail to meet grade standards, whether due to size, shape, damage, or other defects are commonly referred to as culls. Cull potatoes are removed/discarded from the market stream because they do not meet quality specifications or are damaged during harvest or storage. Rather than being sold, they are typically set aside in piles until growers decide how to dispose of them. While cull piles may seem harmless, they can pose a significant threat to surrounding potato fields if not managed correctly.

As automation and precision agriculture continue to reshape modern farming, Washington potato growers have a unique opportunity to see the latest innovations firsthand at FIRA USA 2026. The international AgTech and agricultural robotics event will take place October 20–22, 2026, in Yakima, Washington, bringing together growers, researchers, equipment manufacturers, and technology companies from around the world.

To better understand the challenges impacting agriculture across the state, the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) is asking growers and agricultural stakeholders to participate in a statewide agricultural viability survey effort.
