The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced the 2024/2025 rates it will charge for voluntary grading, inspection, certification, auditing, and laboratory services for a variety of agricultural commodities including meat, poultry, fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy products, rice, cotton, and tobacco.

USDA ANNOUNCES DEADLINE FOR ERP ASSISTANCE FOR PRODUCERS IMPACTED BY 2022 NATURAL DISASTERS 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the deadline for commodity and specialty crop producers to apply for the Emergency Relief Program (ERP) for 2022 natural disaster losses is Aug. 14, 2024. USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) began accepting ERP 2022 applications in October 2023.

USDA FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPECIALTY CROP GROWERS IS EXTENDED TO MEDIUM SIZED FARMS

Medium sized businesses are now eligible to be included in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety Certification for Specialty Crops (FSCSC) Program. Their inclusion makes them eligible to apply for assistance for a percentage of the costs associated with obtaining or renewing a food safety certification. In addition, program assistance has been expanded for 2024 and 2025 expenses.
