In a bipartisan letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Thomas Vilsack, U.S. Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Chair Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) led Senate colleagues in expressing concern about the potential for potato wart to spread from potato imports originating on Canada’s Prince Edward Island (PEI) to U.S. farms and production facilities and urging the implementation of additional mitigation measures to prevent introduction into the United States.

USDA ANNOUNCES DEADLINE FOR ERP ASSISTANCE FOR PRODUCERS IMPACTED BY 2022 NATURAL DISASTERS 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the deadline for commodity and specialty crop producers to apply for the Emergency Relief Program (ERP) for 2022 natural disaster losses is Aug. 14, 2024. USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) began accepting ERP 2022 applications in October 2023.
