Another Apple Cup is in the books! While the scoreboard showed a 59–24 victory for the University of Washington, the real winners of the day were the fans who stopped by the Washington State Potato Commission and WA Grown booth for free fries and fun.

Located at the corner of Stadium Way and Wilson, the famous fry van was serving up hot, fresh Washington-Grown French fries all afternoon. Fans also picked up crimson and grey or purple and gold bracelets to show off their team pride. To make things even more exciting, visitors could scan a QR code to enter a special Apple Cup contest—pick your favorite team, answer trivia, and if your team won and your answers were correct, you had the chance to win a $250 grocery gift card.

The game itself was a high-energy matchup, with the Huskies putting up big offensive numbers to take home the trophy. Cougar fans still showed their spirit and filled the stadium with energy, proving once again why this rivalry is one of the most anticipated events in the state.

At the booth, two Washington potato growers joined in the festivities, proudly sharing their passion for farming and handing out fries that showcased the quality and flavor of Washington potatoes.

So, while WSU may not have claimed the win this year, fans left the game with full hearts, full stomachs, and plenty of Washington pride. From football to fries, the Apple Cup was another great reminder of the tradition, community, and world-class potatoes that make Washington special.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Apple Cup—and hopefully a Cougar victory!
