This year’s Bloomsday race drew nearly 31,000 participants, with 29,837 finishers representing almost all 50 states and 10 countries—and the Washington State Potato Commission booth was once again a major crowd-pleaser!  We handed out an incredible 20,000 pounds of russet and yellow potatoes in 5-pound bags to excited racegoers. As always, the enthusiasm was contagious, and our booth stayed busy from start to finish.  It was fantastic to see so many Team Potato members proudly sporting their gear along the course—thank you for representing Washington potatoes with pride!  We were thrilled to be joined again this year by WA Grown, WA Grains, and Turf Grass, making our entire aisle one of the most popular spots at the event. Perhaps the most meaningful part of the day came from the conversations we had with attendees. Many shared heartfelt stories about receiving potatoes directly from local farmers and expressed sincere gratitude for the work being done to support agriculture in our state. The message was clear: Washington growers have a strong and loyal fan base.
