The 2026 Northwest Potato Research Consortium meeting will take place in Boise, Idaho on February 9–10. The Consortium continues its strong commitment to supporting high-impact potato research, with Washington, Oregon, and Idaho collectively investing approximately $1.5 million annually in projects that address critical grower and industry needs.

This year, a total of 42 research proposals were received from faculty at Washington State University, Oregon State University, and the University of Idaho. During the Boise meeting, researchers will present their proposals to Consortium board members, who will score each submission and provide constructive comments.

Proposals earning the highest scores will be funded, and resulting research outcomes will be shared widely with potato growers across all three states. This process ensures that new innovations, technologies, and science-based solutions reach the industry efficiently and effectively.

The Consortium looks forward to a productive meeting and another successful year of advancing potato research in the region.
