HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF POTATO DISEASE RESEARCH IN WASHINGTON

Your experience in the field can help guide the next generation of potato disease research at Washington State University.

Washington State University's newest potato pathologist, Dr. Vinicius (Vini) Garnica, is asking potato growers, seed growers, consultants, processors, and industry professionals to help identify the most pressing disease challenges facing Washington's potato industry.

The survey is intentionally brief, just three questions and about two minutes to complete, but the information collected will help establish research priorities that reflect the real-world challenges growers are facing across the Columbia Basin and beyond.

Participants are asked to identify:

• The diseases that have caused the greatest losses over the past three years.
• Which research areas would have the biggest impact on improving disease management in the region.
• Whether they would like to stay connected with WSU throughout the growing season.

Topics covered include many of the industry's most significant concerns, including late blight, Verticillium wilt, PVY, pink rot, seed health, fungicide resistance, disease forecasting, storage diseases, resistant varieties, soil health, and other emerging challenges.

By sharing your experiences, you'll help ensure future WSU potato pathology research addresses the issues that matter most to Washington potato producers. Individual responses will remain confidential and will be used solely to guide research priorities.
