A nationwide injunction ordered by the Federal Court in the Eastern District of Texas halts the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act’s Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting Rules. To curb illicit finance, the bipartisan Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) was created that requires companies doing business within the United States to report ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Before the injunction, companies were required to comply by January 1, 2025.
