THE IMPORTANCE OF MRLs FOR EXPORTS
With fall harvest underway with exports of fresh and processed potatoes following, it’s important that growers, shippers, and processors understand international regulations concerning maximum residue levels (MRLs). Many countries are constantly updating their MRLs, so it’s important to always review before shipping. Violations are very costly to the exporter and can cause additional expenses for all shippers and even result in the closure of markets.
