The Washington State Soil Health Initiative (WaSHI), supported by Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (WSARE), announced their free virtual conference SoilCon 2023: Taking Soil Health Principles to Practice on February 14 and 15, 2023. The goal of this free virtual conference is to discuss how soil health principles derived from research, production, and extension can produce management practices for a resilient soil system. Each day, the virtual conference will have sessions running from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm PST.

SoilCon 2023 will address questions on how research on soil health and environmental resilience to climate change can be applied in regional agricultural systems. Topics discussed will include metrics used when assessing soil health, how metrics change based on production systems and regions, and best management practices to support a resilient soil system.
