POTATO MILK HITS UK SUPERMARKET SHELVES THIS WEEK

There is a new contender in the competition for favorite alternative-milk choice.  Described as “deliciously creamy” and capable of producing the “perfect foam” for a homemade latte or cappuccino, the Swedish potato milk brand Dug goes on sale in in 220 Waitrose stores this week in the UK. Potato milk is free from common allergens such as lactose, gluten, and nuts. It’s also low in sugar and saturated fats, and is fortified with calcium, vitamin D and folic acid.  In comparison to oat milk, potatoes use roughly half the land it takes to grow the equivalent amount of oats. Potato milk also uses 56 times less water to produce than almonds for almond milk.
