MCCAIN CAD INVESTMENT OF $600 MILLION TO DOUBLE SIZE AND WORKFORCE OF PROCESSING FACILITY IN COALDALE, ALBERTA

McCain’s 600 million investment to double size and output of its current facility in Coaldale, Alberta creating 260 new jobs to provide a significant economic boost to the area. To accomplish this, McCain is committed to maintain the best practices to meet the company’s sustainability goals to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by the decade’s end. To provide 100% renewable energy, the Coaldale facility expansion will include the installation of turbines and solar panels. To offset natural gas demands, renewable biogas produced will be maximized in the wastewater treatment facility and sent to steam boilers. Also, clean potable water will be created by a water recycling system that can be utilized in the manufacturing process. The facility will also have state of the art production lines. Construction begins sometime later this year.
