MANDITORY VACCINATION REQUIREMENT- U.S. LAND PORTS OF ENTRY

MANDITORY VACCINATION REQUIREMENT- U.S. LAND PORTS OF ENTRY
0.0/5 rating (0 votes)

The U.S. will implement a mandatory vaccination requirement for all land (including ferry) ports of entry on 1/22/22 for non-U.S. citizens.  This mandate was implemented with less than 36-hour notice.  It will impact an already-fragile supply chain as some truckers are likely in route to the border without being vaccinated or without the proper vaccinations that the U.S. will require. The mandate also will impact H-2A workers seeking to enter the country who may similarly already be in route.

Below is a summary of the notification that will be formally published on Monday in the Federal Register.  Some key notes are:

  • Goes into effect at 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 through April 21, 2022.
  • Will apply to all noncitizens of the U.S. at all ferry and border crossings and aligns with current air travel restrictions
  • Will require self-declaration of approved vaccination status, with ability to provide proof upon request.
