Recognizing the need for more applied information for our growers, the Washington State Potato Commission (WSPC) announces our inaugural Potato Academy on February 7th 2023 at the Pasco Red Lion Inn from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Pacific Northwest’s finest applied scientists, all with extensive experience in potato research, will provide presentations and lead discussions on issues affecting our crop and industry. Enjoy lunch with colleagues and friends while discussing, learning, and discovering how these issues apply to your organization.

Potato Academy Schedule:

9:00 Welcome and Introductory Remarks. Dr. Matthew Blua, WSPC Director of Industry Outreach.

9:05 Maximizing Soil Health for Potato Production, Dr. Steve Colman, Professor and WSU Endowed Chair in Soil Health for Potato Cropping Systems.

10:45 Potato Fertility and Cultural Management, Dr. Mark Pavek, WSU Professor/Potato Specialist.

11:25 Diagnosing Problems in the Field, Dr Carrie Wohleb, WSU Vegetable Crops Specialist for Grant and Adams counties.
