CONGRATULATIONS TO FORMER WSPC CHAIR FRANK MARTINEZ FOR INDUCTION INTO GRANT COUNTY FARM BUREAU’S HALL OF FAME
On October 18, 2022, at Pillar Rock Grill in Moses Lake, former Washington State Potato Commission Chair Frank Martinez, along with Mike LaPlant, were inducted into the Grant County Farm Bureau Hall of Fame for their contributions to our community’s agricultural industry.
Martinez’ commitment to agriculture started in his hometown of Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas where he worked as a migrant worker. Before settling in Moses Lake, Washington, Martinez and his family worked harvests in many U.S. states including Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, and Oklahoma. Now, he owns more than 1,000 acres, leases more land to grow crops, owns storage units capable of storing thousands of potatoes, and tractor trailers and other farm equipment.
In his role as WSPC Chair, Martinez worked hard to support our Washington potato industry. Washington Grown has also highlighted Frank Martinez in an appearance on their show. Martinez has appeared on television in other capacities including a Super Bowl Ad. Nicknamed the “Potato King,” Martinez has shown dedication in his commitment to our communities’ agricultural industry, especially our potato industry.
Congratulations and thank you Frank Martinez!
